LINQ is expanding its product portfolio with the development of a system that enables the inspection of heat treatment in gears across various industries. Together with its technology partner, CEIT, LINQ has developed a solution to monitor the mechanical properties of gears after heat treatment.

With this solution, LINQ’s clients will be able to save hundreds of thousands of euros per year by controlling the quality of their gears without destroying them. This feature introduces a new paradigm in the inspection of these components, as it allows for 100% inspection coverage, in contrast to the current practice where users verify pieces statistically — inspecting one per shift, per day, or even per week — exposing themselves to significant risks in the event of defective treatment.

Additionally, this solution drastically reduces inspection costs by eliminating scrap disposal expenses. A LINQ client estimated that destructive inspection costs per production line amount to approximately €100,000 per year; costs that this development will help eliminate.

This technology has been developed jointly with the CEIT research center, a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), under the IAIOA project, which has been funded through the Hazitek program for industrial research or experimental development projects by the Basque Government.
