LINQ continues to expand its range of advanced inspection solutions for the industrial sector.

In this context, and in collaboration with its partners CEIT and SIDENOR, LINQ is developing a system for the characterization of residual stresses in turned steel bars. This is a research initiative through which LINQ aims to develop an initial prototype of a non-destructive inspection system. The ultimate objective of this research line is the development of fully integrated in-line equipment capable of inspecting 100% of the bar production in the steel manufacturing process.

This project will contribute to environmental improvements in the steelmaking process by eliminating the stress-relief treatment and reducing the tempering treatment by 50%. It is estimated that these optimizations will lead to a reduction of 562 tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

Additionally, this solution will enable increased productivity and a reduction in the rejection rate due to residual stresses in steel bar production lines.

This technology has been developed in collaboration with the Ceit research center, a member of BRTA, within the framework of the TENMAG project, which has been funded by the Hazitek program for industrial research and experimental development projects of the Basque Government.
